Penang

The town of Penang was transformed from the first British merchant station in the Far East in 1786 to a bustling city that combines Eastern and Western character. This is evident from the heritage buildings adjacent to the city’s modern buildings, lifestyle, cuisine and customs. Georgetown, named after George III of Britain, is the capital of the political state and its commercial, educational and social center. Highlights include Khoo Kongsi, Kapitan Keling Mosque, Sri Mariamman Temple, Cornwallis Fort and Buddhist Temple of Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram, which contains one of the largest Buddhas in the world. Khoo Kongsi, an ancient house built by skilled Chinese artists, features the most popular Chinese features, and seems to be full of exquisite engravings and columns decorated with the finest wood. This great architectural heritage gives Georgetown a special charm and beauty enhanced by restaurants and cafés on high-rise sidewalks, department stores, night markets and many places to visit. Located in the heart of Penang Hill, Kek Lok Si Temple, Butterfly Farm, Botanical Gardens, Snake Temple and Wild Bird Park, Biannak is known for its waterfront beaches and world-class resorts along the coast. . One of the distinctive things about Trishaws, which is adorned with attractive colors, gives tourists a chance to see the island in a beautiful and fun way. The truly spectacular journey is through Penang Bridge, the longest bridge in Asia. A romantic trip can be made through the ferry, which was once the only means of transit, as well as the trekking highlands to enjoy the scenic scenery. On the way back, do not forget to stop in the Balik pulau to taste the fruits of coconut and durian.
